The Corinth, Mississippi area is rich in history and alive with lots of activities to enjoy. From our early days as a regional transportation hub for the South, Corinth has been a great place to live. Today, Corinth city schools consistently rank among the best in the state, achieving a Level 5 accreditation – the highest possible in the State of Mississippi. In 2004, core students at Corinth High School averaged a 23.9 on the ACT while the state’s average was 18.8. Five city schools with grades K-12 feature dedicated and professional teaching faculties and administrators who truly care for the students they lead. All of this with one of the smallest student-teacher ratios in the state makes Corinth’s school systems a great option for young families.
Corinth and Alcorn County feature a number of prominent industries that employ thousands of professionals and skilled laborers. Coca-Cola, Caterpillar, Magnolia Regional Health Center, Mississippi Polymers, Kimberly-Clark, Quebecor World and Timber Products are among our largest employers and greatest corporate citizens. Locally-owned business feature everything from mountain bikes and outdoors gear to boutique-quality men’s and women’s clothing. Gift shops and specialty shops abound, and it’s hard to NOT find what you’re looking for among Corinth’s many varied merchants.
The area’s recreation facilities offer lots of activities for children – from softball and soccer at the SportsPlex to playgrounds, walking trails and softball at the Northeast Mississippi Regional Park. Adults will enjoy golf, tennis and fully equipped workout facilities at Shiloh Ridge Athletic Club, the area’s most complete recreation and fitness complex.
And of course, Shiloh Ridge is located only fifteen minutes from the pristine waters of Pickwick Lake and its many recreational opportunities. Boating, swimming, camping and picnicking are among the most popular activities at this Tennessee State Park and TVA formed lake.
There’s a lot of living to do in Corinth and its surrounding areas. We’re small enough to be neighborly yet growing at a pace that exceeds most communities in the state. Our economy is bustling with industry, retail and service-related businesses. And our religious community is strong with scores of churches of every denomination with thousands of faithful members. We’re also a giving community that supports the Boys & Girls Club, the Lighthouse Foundation and numerous other charities dedicated to improving the quality of life for our citizens.
